The 2015 Emmy Awards coincided with George R.R. Martin's birthday and the show host Andy Samberg made sure he wished George R.R. Martin but that's not the only thing that he did. Samber first showed a photoshopped image of how George R.R. Martin would've looked at his first Emmy event.


However that wasn't the end of it. Andy Samberg wished George R.R. Martin and made this joke about Jon Snow:

“Happy birthday George and thanks for telling me during the commercial that Jon Snow is alive.”

R.R. Martin just laughed after hearing the joke and didn't saw anything, while David Benioff had a smile on his face while shaking his head. While Andy Samberg meant it as a joke, there are many people who believed it to be true and have taken it as a confirmation that Jon Snow is alive.
